Don’t worry, your precious Hellraiser 2 Platinum trophy is now finally available again – maybe

Strap on your Space Earth military helmets, Helldiver 2’s automatons have just returned, you know, literally a day or so after they were soundly defeated and believed to have been wiped out by players. Sadly, that doesn’t seem to be the case, as the robots have just launched a new attack on some planets.

If you’re already out of the woods, here’s a quick rundown of what’s been going on in Helldiver lately: Players fight robots, robots are defeated, Arrow says the robots are gone forever, and no one believes this – especially since it means The game’s PS5 Platinum trophy will look like it’s impossible to move forward, with players battling bugs, players getting close to beating them, and bots returning. Now, I have to remember to take a deep breath.

The bot’s return was announced via the game’s official Twitter account. “Somehow the droids are back,” Arrow wrote, no doubt teasing their own Star Wars reference via social media managers.

“As long suspected,” it continued, “the previous droid force was merely a vanguard. A vast fleet has now begun an attack on Cyberstan and the surrounding planets. Helldivers, stop this. An unprovoked invasion. The fight continues!”

So, yes, it looks like there’s a new primary order to “successfully defend five planets,” but that seems to have been proven, as the droids are apparently much tougher than their conquered cousins. This should come as no surprise, as the main command’s prompt reads: “The droids have revealed their true power: a massive invasion fleet is sweeping across our territory. Defenses are in disarray. Slow their advance as much as possible.”

The force, of course, seems to have gotten off to a fast start, taking almost complete control of the Le Caille district at the speed of ten-ton trucks, although players are mobilizing to try and halt the advance.

So, yes, it’s a good thing that all these crashes were resolved this morning, although – and I write this with tears in my eyes – you probably won’t have time for a snowball fight.
