Motorola is ramping up its promotion of its upcoming Edge 50 Ultra, touting charging speeds more heavily.
As detailed in an article on X, Motorola says the upcoming Edge 50 Ultra will come with 125W TurboPower fast charging once it launches. This article is accompanied by a short video highlighting all the parts needed to build the new device.
What’s more, Motorola says the Edge 50 Ultra will launch on April 16, 2024.

It is confirmed that the Edge 50 Ultra will match the charging speeds of the previously released Edge 50 Pro. The Pro model was launched in India on April 3 with a 4,500mAh battery with the same 125W TurboPower charging capability. This is also the same charging speed as the 2023 Edge 40 Pro.
It’s unclear what the battery capacity of the Ultra model will be. There were rumors in March that the device might come with a 4,700mAh battery, but that remains to be seen.

Motorola later revealed changes to the Edge 50 Ultra’s rear panel, which it said were “bold” and “textured.” This seems to confirm what we saw in leaks in early April. Renders show that Motorola is said to have chosen a textured back panel for its 2024 flagship. These renders suggest that the device will offer a slightly curved front display and “minimal bezels.”
The leaker adds that the Edge 50 Ultra may feature a triple-camera array consisting of a 50MP primary lens. The case could feature a periscope lens, a secondary camera, and rumored laser autofocus between the sensors.
Internally, the phone is rumored to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Soc, which has slightly lower performance than the flagship SD 8 Gen 3.
At this time, the availability of the Edge 50 Ultra, especially in the United States, is unclear. However, it’s not far away from the company officially launching the Ultra model.
