Welcome to another week in review. Samsung has announced that it will change security updates for the Galaxy S20 series from monthly to quarterly, which means the S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra will receive patches every three months.
Redmi has launched the Redmi Turbo 3. It comes with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, a 6.67-inch AMOLED (2,712 x 1,220px resolution, 120Hz refresh rate) and a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main camera. The Turbo 3 runs Android 14 and Xiaomi’s HyperOS and packs a 5,000mAh battery with 90W charging. The 12/256GB version starts at 1,999 yuan ($276) in China and goes on general sale on April 15.
HMD has launched three feature phones – Nokia 6310, 5310 and 230. All three phones have USB-C ports and have larger batteries than Nokia’s previous phones.
A major leak appears to have exposed the battery of the iPhone 16 series. The iPhone 16 is said to have a 3,561 mAh battery, which is 6% larger than its predecessor, while the iPhone 16 Plus will have a 4,006 mAh battery, which is 9% smaller than the iPhone 15 Plus. On the Pro side, the iPhone 16 Pro is rumored to have a 3,355 mAh battery, which is 2.5% larger than its predecessor, while the Pro Max is said to have a 4,676 mAh battery, which is 5% larger than the iPhone 15 Pro.
Motorola has confirmed that it will fully launch the Edge 50 series on April 16. These include Edge 50 Pro, Edge 50 Ultra, and Edge 50 Fusion.
The S20 trio is past its four-year software support cycle.
The latest member of the Redmi series may launch outside China as the Poco F6.

The single camera on the back is a 47.2MP 1-inch type with an interesting 19mm f/1.9 lens. There is a 12.6MP f/2.3 selfie camera on the front. The Leitz Phone 3 will be available in Japan on April 19, and will come with a “lens cover” and matching protective case.
