While Asus doesn’t make many different smartphone models, it still offers some great options. The brand is now focusing on two different product lines, with the Zenfone series catering to mainstream users looking for phones with high-end hardware and then the ROG Phone series offering radical designs backed by the latest hardware and tons of bells and whistles. Here’s what you need to know about the best Asus phones out there.

Best of both worlds
The Zenfone 11 Ultra has great hardware that easily rivals the best phones today, and you get clean software with zero bloat and a polished interface. The cameras aren’t quite on the same level as the Pixel 8 Pro or Galaxy S24 Ultra, but if you want a bigger Asus phone, the Zenfone 11 Ultra is an easy recommendation.
The ultimate gaming phone
The ROG Phone 8 Pro is an incredible gaming phone, but it doesn’t have the same radical design as earlier devices. Instead, you have a more streamlined design that looks good on its own, but Asus hasn’t skimped on any gaming extras. If you need a phone to play Android games, then ROG Phone 8 Pro is the best choice.
The best little phone
The Zenfone 10 is a subtle upgrade from the Zenfone 9, but you still get the same great feel. No other phone can give you the same great features in such a small form factor, so if you need a small phone, look no further than the Zenfone 10.
ASUS ROG Phone 7 Ultimate Edition
Game power
The ROG Phone 7 Ultimate is still an excellent gaming phone, with a large AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, excellent liquid cooling hardware, and a 6000mAh battery. The phone has a bold shape, with a second screen on the back that can be customized with various effects, ultrasonic triggers on the side for use in games, and a side-mounted USB-C port.
Best gaming value
ROG Phone 7 retains the best features of ROG Phone 7 Pro, the only difference is that the design is different and the second screen on the back is not as useful. That said, it’s more affordable.
ASUS ROG Phone 6D Ultimate
Best products from MediaTek
The ROG Phone 6D Ultimate is nearly identical to the ROG Phone 6 Pro, but there are some key differences. It’s powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000+ and has an openable vent that lets cool air flow into the case. It comes bundled with Asus’ AeroActive cooler in the box, and while it’s not officially available in North America yet, you can buy it in other global markets.
If you want the best Asus phone, buy the Zenfone 11 Ultra
Since Asus is now focusing on two different product lines, it doesn’t make as many phones as it once did. That said, this streamlined strategy has worked well for the brand, and the Zenfone 11 Ultra is a great overall product that gets the basics right. It’s not a small phone like its predecessors, but it has the right balance of hardware optimization and clean software, and the larger size makes it stand out.
Of course, if you need a small phone, the Zenfone 10 is still the best small phone you can buy today. Currently, there is no other device with the same caliber of hardware as the Zenfone 10 in such a small form factor, and that alone makes it worth considering.
If you want a product aimed at gaming, the ROG Phone 8 Pro offers great hardware backed by a full suite of gaming-centric features. The phone isn’t that radical in terms of styling, which is a smart move on Asus’ part as it makes the device more palatable to a mainstream audience. That said, you won’t miss out on any gaming extras, and it’s a real pleasure to use.
