ACSO investigators: Wary of copper thieves cutting internet, phone lines

NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Ruston Cavan and Sheriff Travis Patten are asking the community to remain “vigilant” for any suspicious digging activity that may be linked to people calling in via phone and on the Internet Stealing copper wire from the line.
Several feet of AT&T Internet and phone lines at the north end of U.S. 61 were recently dug up and severed, knocking out service to many residences, Carvin said.
The incident remains under investigation.
He said anyone who sees suspicious digging should call 911.
