The Colorado Internet Portal Authority (SIPA) announced Monday a new grant program designed to support digital government and citizen technology projects across Colorado.
The program, called the SIPA Digital Government Services Grant Program, will provide funding for digital government projects at all levels of government across the state, with a focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of delivering services to Colorado residents. Government entities eligible to apply for the grant program include state agencies, city and county governments, special districts, public K-12 schools, and public colleges and universities.
Proposals will be evaluated by a committee of the SIPA Board of Directors and must include a project description, project team information and budget. The authority said it will focus on projects that align with Gov. Jared Polis’ priority issue areas, such as homelessness, crime, education and property taxes, as well as projects that target traditionally underserved communities, such as low-income residents, Youth and small business. .
According to the grant program manual, award amounts start at $25,000 and have no maximum limit.
“We believe that by investing in a diverse portfolio of innovative technology solutions in Colorado, we can push the boundaries of civilian technology beyond what is typically possible in government and ultimately impact The way Coloradans interact with their government makes a real difference,” SIPA GovGrants Director said in the release.
Applications are open until June 21st. SIPA expects to award the first round of awards by early fall.
