Tesla has delayed some Cybertruck deliveries over the past few days. The company didn’t specify the reason for the delay or even publicly comment on the delay, but commenters on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum reported receiving text messages or phone calls informing them that their deliveries would be rescheduled.
One user said the dealer told them the truck was being recalled over the gas pedal. Another user said Tesla sent them a text message saying deliveries were not currently scheduled for the same reason. Several others reported receiving text messages regarding “vehicle readiness” issues.
Elon Musk fan account @WholeMarsBlog posted on X that deliveries had been halted for seven days, but this has not been confirmed and Tesla has not responded. edgeemail of. (The company disbanded its public relations department several years ago and generally does not answer reporters’ questions.)
The problem itself may be that the accelerator pedal tends to get stuck. A Cybertruck owner posted a video on TikTok showing how their accelerator pedal cover got stuck and “pressed the accelerator to 100%, wide open.” They said applying the brakes would stop the truck from accelerating, but if they let go, the truck would start moving again. That’s not a good situation for any truck, let alone one that weighs nearly 7,000 pounds and can accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in less than three seconds.
Another user wrote on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum in early April that their truck apparently accelerated itself into a signal pole and that neither the brake pedal nor the airbags were functioning.
