The latest version brings significant camera enhancements, including improvements to camera color saturation, optimization of blur accuracy and overall clarity for photos taken in Portrait mode. Users may also see enhancements to camera loading speeds.
The update also includes the April 2024 security patch and is designed to improve the overall smoothness of the Phone 2a user interface. Without further explanation, the Google Assistant wake-up experience and pop-up view animations will appear smoother with new optimizations in the latest version.
Improvements to Google Assistant address the previous inability to access “Hey Google,” which is fixed with the nifty Nothing OS 2.5.4.a update.
Additionally, overall gaming experience and performance should improve significantly once users install the update.
Phone 2a users can navigate to their device’s Settings > System > System Updates Check OTA version.
Other bug fixes in the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update include:
- Resolved compatibility issues with some third-party launchers.
- Fixed stability issues with WiFi and Bluetooth connections.

Nothing’s previous update also fixed minor issues such as a malfunctioning fingerprint sensor, static noise in the receiver during calls, and flickering on the lock screen when launching apps. Likewise, the update adds some new features and improves gameplay and overall performance.
Meanwhile, the company also rolled out the long-awaited Nothing OS 2.5.3 update for its flagship Phone 2 earlier this month. The company is also preparing to launch a new Ear and Ear later this month, the specifications and pricing of which were recently leaked.
