Samsung Galaxy S23 series users have discovered a rather annoying fingerprint scanner bug after recently updating to One UI 6.1. Users reported that the fingerprint scanner required multiple clicks to unlock, or took several seconds to respond.
Fortunately, Samsung has now confirmed on its Korean community forum that it is aware of the bug and is working on a fix.
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused by using this device. We have confirmed that in some cases, the fingerprint recognition on the lock screen does not work properly or the notification window appears,” a moderator said according to machine translation explained.
“We plan to release software that can improve this problem, so please keep your phone up to date. We apologize again for the inconvenience and please wait for the software update.”
The representative didn’t give a timeline for the update’s release, but we’re guessing it will be out in the coming weeks. After all, a deeply flawed fingerprint scanner is no small problem.
