We’re on the other side of a new season of drops and balance updates Marvel Snapshot (free), which means it’s time to get into this month’s deck-building guide. Some really great cards have been added to the game since we last checked in, and some interesting balance tweaks have forced us all to take a closer look at our old reliable cards. Much of this month looks very different from last month, which is both interesting and frustrating. As always, remember: today’s winning deck may be tomorrow’s withered cherry blossoms. These guidelines are one way to keep your finger on the pulse of your scene, but they’re not the only ones you should use.
Note that most of these decks are the best available right now. They assume you have access to the full range of cards.I will select the strongest five again Marvel Snapshot Current decks, I’ll be adding more decks that don’t require anything too hard to get and are fun to play. You know, a little bit of variety and stuff.
The Avengers and X-Men both failed, and I’m not sure how much things changed with their new members joining the game. I had high hopes for Gears of War and Hope Summers, but they didn’t really flip the script the way I thought they would. Will Raiden change everything, or will Thanos and Gnar continue to dominate? I guess we’ll have to see how things play out. Okay, on to the deck!
Kill Deadpool
Cards included: Deadpool, X-23, Nicomin, Carnage, Wolverine, Hulkbuster, Killmonger, Deathlok, Venom, Arios, Knull, Death
Destruction decks continue to dominate, although Arios has taken his seat back from Shang-Chi and is gaining strength overall. Marvel Snapshot Making it more likely that you will enter the final round with more power than your opponent, rather than less. Despite this minor change, you can still play this deck just like before. Continue destroying Deadpool, increasing his strength and feeding Venom and Knull while making death less costly. Alioth is your ace in the hole and can ruin any last-turn tricks your opponent has up their sleeves. This deck wasn’t touched at all in last month’s balance adjustments, which makes me wonder when the shoes will finally drop. Now, it’s golden.
Thanos and Spot
Cards included: Psylocke, Kayla, Hope Summers, Wave, Cull Obsidian, Vision, Mockingbird, Spot, Thanos, Red Hulk, Skaar, Magneto
Although this month’s “Second Dinner” attempts to slow down the Mad Titan, he still overpowers his opponents. Big changes to his deck this time around include ditching Trismus in favor of introducing Wave and focusing on quick power-ups to play some really big cards. Caiera will protect your powerful cards from any Shang-Chi spoilers. Use stones and other cards to collect energy and put these big cards to work. That’s strategy, and it means nothing if it’s not reliable.
Phoenix Rising
Cards included: Ghost Spider, Human Torch, Nicomin, Carnage, Multiple Man, Venom, Deathlok, Shuri, Shang-Chi, Phoenix Force, Nimrod, Arnim Zora
A little bit like a movement deck, a little bit like a destruction deck, it’s an interesting hybrid that shows some solid performance. You have a lot of options here, but the idea is to enhance cards by moving and/or destroying them, and use the Phoenix Force to resurrect destroyed cards and make them moveable (Human Torch or Multiplayer is the way to go here) ideal choice). On your last turn, you can play as Arnim Zola to spread the love for your most powerful card. You can’t play this deck carelessly, but once you understand how it works, it’s quite versatile and can catch your opponent off guard.
hella ramp
Cards included: Black Knight, Blade, Lady Sif, Dracula, Jubilee, Lockjaw, Black Cat, Hela, Red Hulk, Magneto, Infinity, Death
Hela remains the most popular Discard mainstay. As usual, it’s more about dropping some powerful stuff that you wouldn’t normally get to play in a single game, and then using Hela at the end to drag them back into the fray. Of course, this requires that you don’t split Hela or accidentally use her too early, but there’s some insurance here, like Jubilee, Black Knight, and Lockjaw, in case she doesn’t work for you. This is a relatively easy deck to play, and if you don’t already have Red Hulk, you can always fill his spot with someone else useful. Maybe the Apocalypse.
Bounced back
Cards included: Hood, Buster, Kitty Pryde, Nicomin, Snowguard, Angela, Beast, Collector, Falcon, Mysterio, Bishop, Killer Monkey
Oh, this is an interesting thing. Some balance tweaks have brought Bounce back, and it’s surprising how far a deck without a single card costing more than 3 can get. Play cards and bring them back to power up characters like Kitty Pryde, Angela, The Collector, Bishop and Hit-Monkey. Bast is an overall win here, as the only card in your hand with more than 3 times of power is Mysterio. Angela, Collector and Bishop are your pillars of support. Hit-Monkey is your last-turn surprise, hopefully combined with the cheap cards Falcon and Beast retrieve.
Now, there are some fun decks for those of you who are still climbing the collecting ladder or just want to try something different.
it means war(machine)
Cards included: Black Knight, Blade, Ebony Maw, Goose, Zabu, Lady Sif, Ghost Rider, Shang-Chi, War Machine, Cull Obsidian, Magneto, Infinity Heroes
I was lucky enough to pull Gears of War out of cache last month. Then I looked for any way to get the most out of him, and this is the best deck I’ve found. Use Black Knight and Blade or Lady Sif’s Precision Slicing to give you a powerful Ebony Blade, use Ghost Rider to recapture the powerful cards you just chopped, and use Goose and Ebony Maw to trick your opponents into thinking they are Know where you can and cannot play poker. Then put down War Machine on turn 5 and do whatever you want on turn 6. Might not be the best deck, but players may not see it at this stage.
Qajar and friends
Cards included: Ant-Man, Elektra, Iceman, Nightcrawler, Armor, Mister Fantastic, Steven Universe, Ka-Zar, Namor, Blue Miracle, Klaw, Onslaught
This is for those who are just starting to climb the ladder, and we’ve seen it many times before. It’s a combination of many ongoing cards that will be powered by Onslaught, 1-cost cards that will be powered by Khazar, and some useful tricks like Cosmo, Armor, and Claw that can disrupt your opponent’s plans. Frankly, this is the best you can get with the first few sets of cards. Be smart and you’ll get something better in no time.
That’s it for this month’s deck guide. We’ll be rolling out one of these events again in May to see how it goes after the Thunderbolts event is completely over and a month’s worth of balance changes have been completed. It’ll be interesting to see what these new cards bring to the table, but I suspect (as usual) the biggest swing will come from any balance changes made to Second Dinner. Will Destroy finally get the hammer this month? I hope not, since this is the type of deck I choose. Happy shooting!
