The Diablo 4 PTR has been data mined, and it seems that the famous Iron Wolf from Diablo 2 may return in Season 4

Currently, the world of Diablo 4 seems to be changing for the better. This is largely due to Season 4’s Public Test Realm (PTR), which has people very excited about Season 4 with its many changes to gameplay, loot, endgame, and crafting.

But the next season doesn’t start until mid-May, so we’ll be stuck with a lackluster Construct season until then. That said, the PTR is more than just an opportunity for players to test future changes and provide feedback. Of course, we are talking about data mining.

Considering how many of the changes being tested in the PTR are intended for release Season 4Data miners have uncovered a number of exciting details about the possible themes of Season 4, as well as the reputation and battle pass rewards that may be associated with it.

According to the head of World of Warcraft, the theme revolves around Iron Wolves, this mercenary company first appeared late in the campaign of Diablo 2. The Iron Wolves are loyal protectors from Kejzstan, and their code of honor sets them apart from other mercenary groups in the world of Diablo.

The Iron Wolves did return in Diablo 3 – along with their leader Asheara, but there’s surprisingly little information about them in Diablo 4. Their return will likely tie into Season 4’s main story, and the seasonal event appears to be centered around earning Iron Wolf’s reputation.

In addition to the many reputation rewards discovered by data miners, other revelations point to the same theme. The main seasonal story NPC will apparently be called Soudeh, and they will lead the new seasonal quests and handle reward distribution – just like Season 3’s Ayuzhan and Season 2’s Erys.

Other indicators include the Iron Wolves crest, which also features a map icon decorated with leaves – a strong indication of seasonal connections. Seasonal quests and activities in Diablo 4 Seasons always have a leaf icon to distinguish them from standard game content.

In fact, some players participating in the PTR have even discovered the “Glory of the Wolf” battle text, which is likely to affect reputation climbing in Season 4. The Iron Wolf character can even be found in Helltides, fighting alongside players.

Data miners also discovered the Season 4 Battle Pass splash screen, as well as the many rewards players can find on the Battle Pass track. It’s obviously not clear which ones are free and which ones are paid, but the list includes various armors, weapons, mount trophies, and more.

As Season 4’s May 14th release approaches, much of it will be revealed later this month or early next month. Until then, Blizzard may host a livestream or two to discuss PTR feedback.
