Ubisoft announces game’s release date star wars desperadoesan upcoming open-world game from Massive Entertainment.
Along with the release date, a trailer for the game’s new look was also released.
Although Ubisoft has been tight-lipped about the release window for months, thanks to Disney’s sigh of relief, we know the game will be released this year. Today, though, Disney moved up the game’s release date to August 30 after Ubisoft Japan posted the game’s premiere page on YouTube (thank you, Jason), Ubisoft continued to release trailers and news throughout the day.
Ubisoft announced Star Wars: Desperados in 2021 and showed off it at the Xbox Showcase in June 2023. It’s set after the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and lets you explore different planets – both familiar and new ones. In this era, the rule of the empire is disrupted by never-ending rebellions, and the underworld ushered in a golden age.
The first fully open-world Star Wars video game, you play as the villain Kay Weiss (Humberly Gonzalez), who along with her companion Nix (Dee Bradley Baker ) is looking to start a new life. A skilled thief, Kai’s antics attract the attention of Srilo, the leader of a new and ominous criminal syndicate, Zerik Besh.
When Srilo places a bounty on Kai’s head, Kai and Nix get a chance at freedom – pulling off one of the greatest heists of all time. Kai and Nix will need to navigate the galaxy’s underworld and build reputations among legendary criminal organizations such as the Pike Corporation, the Hutt Corporation, the Ashaga Clan and the Scarlet Dawn to gain the support they need to complete their mission.
Kai and Nyx will travel across the galaxy to obtain the right resources and crew, and along the way they will travel through various locations, both iconic and new: Canto Bight, Kijimi, Tatooine, Akiva and the windswept steppes of Toshara. Along the way, Kay will explore cities and taverns, race her airship through outdoor landscapes, and pilot her Pathfinder ship through the wilderness of space. Pathfinders will also help them chase, dodge, and attack to gain the upper hand in melee battles with the Empire and other enemies.
You can also engage in secret and public combat, vehicular combat, and communicate via branching dialogues.
Star Wars Outlaws will be available through Ubisoft Stores and retail stores, with a suggested price of $69.99 for the base game. You can also get three days early access to the game by subscribing to Ubisoft+ or purchasing the Gold or Ultimate Edition.
