Considering the simultaneous increase in discrete GPU prices, it’s a good thing that iGPU performance has improved so much over the past few generations. Without the work that Intel and AMD have done to make gaming on their integrated GPUs feasible, the era of $500 computers would be completely gone. Its performance isn’t on par with RTX or Radeon, but if you’re on a budget, it’s a lifesaver! FPS Review tested the Ryzen 8700G and 8600G against the older Ryzen 5700G.

You won’t see Cyberpunk 2077 in all its glory, but hitting nearly 60 fps at 1080p at medium settings and with FSR enabled is impressive. If you love racing, then setting F1 2022 to Ultra and averaging 64 fps should bring a smile to your face. It’s a shame that Starfield and some other modern games are still out of reach, but you do need to keep your expectations reasonable. If you’re considering a new budget system and want to play games on it, going with the Ryzen 8700G will give you a more flexible system than buying a gaming console, and your performance will be close.
