According to the announcement, DICE is looking to the future of the series by shifting focus and resources to what comes next. When Season 7 concludes, the studio will continue to support the game with new in-game challenges, events, modes, and ongoing maintenance, but there will no longer be an official season.

Today’s announcement also revealed that Motive Studio, the developer behind the remake of Dead Space and Star Wars: Squadrons, is assembling a team focused on Battlefield. The studio will work with DICE, Criterion and Ripple Effect to build the Battlefield universe across connected multiplayer and single-player experiences.

In a public statement, Motive general manager Patrick Klaus assured that development of the Iron Man project will continue to move forward, with the team making excellent progress this year, reaching an important internal milestone and setting the stage for the future. laid the foundation for the journey. Battlefield 2042 was released in November 2021, but there were many problems that caused DICE to delay the start of the first season. Soon after launch, players started leaving in droves, especially on PC.

A few months later, DICE removed the popular Rush mode from featured playlists, but after player backlash, the team reinstated Rush into the game. But in February 2022, some players were tired of the game and launched a petition asking EA to provide refunds. The petition eventually received more than 200,000 signatures.

After the release of version 4.00 update in April 2022, which brought more than 400 changes, including bug fixes, game balance improvements, and other additions, the number of players rebounded and the game was released for seven seasons.
