You probably know the general outlines of Joker and Harley Quinn’s twisted love story Batman: The Animated Series and other DC projects.But the first trailer Clown: Pas de deux It feels like director Todd Phillips is doing something very different with his musical interpretation of the character.
Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) is still imprisoned in Arkham. pas de deux’s new trailer, it appears that the events in the previous film led to him receiving more scrutiny. When Arthur is escorted by armed guards, the asylum looks like a lonely, desolate place. But when Arthur meets fellow inmate Harleen Quinzel (Lady Gaga), his eyes are filled with hope.
While some shots in the trailer suggest that Arthur will eventually return to the streets of Gotham, the real focus is on how Harry and Arthur’s encounter will lead them into a musical fantasy journey that seems to be the height of escapism from reality. Waltzing on rooftops, starring in nightclubs, and hosting TV shows, these are all things Harley and the Joker do in DC Comics. But the trailer confuses how much of what’s happening is real and how much might just be happening in Arthur’s head.
The trailer definitely makes Clown: Pas de deux It looks like this will be a novel about two main characters. But Warner Bros. really needs to stop being coy and let us hear Harley and the Joker sing. The sequel will be released on October 4th.
