Samsung is the leader in foldable phones, with the company expected to launch the Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 later this year. Now, new leaks suggest that rival devices may surpass the Z Fold 6 when it comes to camera zoom.
Android headlines It seems that a deep dive into the HyperOS code has revealed a ton of details about the Mix Fold 4 (allegedly codenamed Goku). Most notably, the new Xiaomi foldable phone will feature two telephoto cameras, a 60MP 2x camera (OV60A40) and a 10MP 5x periscope lens (S5K3K1).
This isn’t the first foldable phone to feature two telephoto cameras, as that honor belongs to the vivo X Fold and X Fold Plus. But dual telephoto cameras are still rare on foldable devices. This camera hardware suggests that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will offer better zoomed-in images than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which is expected to use a single telephoto camera (10MP 3x). Xiaomi also recently debuted AI zoom technology on the Mi 14 Ultra, so this could be another weapon in its camera zoom arsenal.
What other highlights does Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 have?
The foldable phone is also said to feature a 50MP main camera (OVX8000), a 13MP ultra-wide rear lens (OV13B10), and a 16MP selfie camera on each screen.
Apart from this, MIX Fold 4 is said to have a higher-resolution display and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Previous leaks pointed out that this product is foldable, equipped with a 5,000mAh+ battery, 100W wired charging, wireless charging support and IPX8 protection level.
Unfortunately, and in a huge disappointment, the MIX Fold 4 may only be released in China. However, the rumored MIX Flip will reportedly launch globally and is also expected to feature a 60MP 2x camera.
