The name of this movie is Mickey 17 Starring Batman himselff, Robert Pattinson. Pattinson plays a man who realizes his job is to die and be cloned, over and over again, until one day the clones become self-aware.It is based on a book called Mickey 7 Created by Edward Ashton, but Joon-ho decided he wanted to kill off the character ten more times, so that’s why his version is Mickey17. The Oscar-winning director said this this week at CinemaCon 2024, where he revealed the trailer for his 2025 sci-fi film for the first time. While the trailer won’t be released for a while, io9 already exists and we have to tell you about it.Because it’s so scary crazy.
The entire trailer is set to Dean Martin’s “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head,” so, Go play this while you read what’s going on. We start with a spaceship floating on a planet. A man in a spacesuit was outside the spacecraft and was asked if he felt dizzy. He admitted that he felt a little dizzy when something was cut from his hand and floated into space.
This is Pattinson’s character Mickey, who has a squeaky, meek voice, almost like a gangster in a Disney movie. He got a new job as expendable, which meant they would do a full scan of his body so when he died, they could print a new one. Mitch admitted that he hadn’t read the full application, so he wasn’t sure what it meant.
So, as a consumable, he has to perform a variety of different tasks. We see him dealing with fire on an ice planet, and so on, and the camera keeps showing him dying and people throwing body bags into the incinerator. At one point, the people pushing the body in realized that the person in the body bag was still alive. “It’s okay,” Mickey said, and they pushed him into the fire.
At one point, we saw a version of him fall into the ice, landing completely out of our reach. “This doesn’t look good for you,” someone says, as a giant creature runs and kills another version of him. Meanwhile, a friend asked him “What does it feel like to die?” Mickey told him that despite being used to it 17 times, he still didn’t like it. Just then, Mickey walked into his room and lay down next to…another Mickey.
“Why aren’t you dead yet?” asked the other Mickey, 18-year-old Mickey, his voice more normal and confident. We don’t know, but we find that when “many” exist in this world, they must be eliminated. So we see scenes of other clones being murdered, including someone suggesting they play rock-paper-scissors to find out which clones are still alive.
The two Mickeys go through a series of action scenes together until one Mickey says “I don’t like you” to the other Mickey. The man responded: “But I’m you.” “I’m not you!” he retorted, and they continued fighting. We then see the two men back on the ice planet, where the whole place is filled with zombie buffalo-looking creatures from before. “Don’t do this again,” someone said.
um, yes, Mickey 17 It looks very wild. A movie about coping with death, but also about how to live. It’s a movie with a hard sci-fi premise, but there’s also a lot of humor and pathos. There are also multiple Roberts Pattinsons.
