At the first Hellfire Feast, after the mutants re-established a second mutant nation on the living island of Krakoa, Scarlet Witch put on an elaborate show to secure her newfound status on the island. Taking up a place in the mutant circuit, the protocol behind resurrection is: the mutant world cheats death in its own way. She did so, by… Well, murder yourself.
With Wanda resurrected by the Five, she is now able to perform a massive magical ritual that ultimately creates a pocket-dimensional hell simply called “The Waiting Room.” The realm itself is the space between life and death, a way for Brainwave to scan all time and space and resurrect mutants that have not yet been backed up in their own archives. Overnight, the queue for resurrected mutants filled with millions of souls waiting in their own paradises – including those massacred in the Genocide on Mount Geno, as well as those killed in the Holocaust of those who were further killed.
Genosha also received a second legacy during the Krako era, as the seed of an ancient mutated civilization known as Threshold. Kitty Pryde and the Marauders use genetic material collected from the dead on Genosha to send a mysterious lockbox filled with biological data back two billion years, laying the foundation for the birth of the first mutant society. – This is part of the cyclical paradox of time, and the fall of Genosha is part of this paradox. would provide the spark for the earliest forms of mutant life in the original place.
