Patch 1.030 for FFVII Rebirth fixes impossible side missions

April 11Square Enix said on Twitter that update 1.030 is now available Final Fantasy VII Reborn. It specifically noted that it had fixed the annoying side quest bug, adding: “Thank you for your patience and support!”

While this update is much appreciated, it’s not entirely surprising. We know that Square Enix plans to fix this broken mission, and they confirmed this on April 4th. Still, glad I can finally finish this damn side quest and move on with my life.

Here’s the full patch list for Update 1.030:

  • Fixed a bug in the Chapter 12 side mission “Can’t Stop, Can’t Stop” that would block progress even after completing the requirements of the G-Bike mini-game
    —Please note that even if you have met the requirements, you must complete the G-Bike mini-game again
    —If you have already completed a mission, your mission progress will not be reset
  • Fixed some issues when completing Phenomenon Intel in a specific order.
  • Fixed a rare bug that prevented new challenges from being unlocked in Battle Simulator
  • Fixed a bug where romance would not increase in some cases even if you made relevant choices
  • Fixed a bug where players would not receive the Cactus Crusher trophy even if they met the requirements
  • Fixed a bug that could cause errors, crashes, and inability to proceed when loading save data in certain circumstances
  • Function to load saved data FF7 remake When your save data has been loaded multiple times, updated with the most recently loaded save data
  • Fixed some display/visual bugs
