Most movie fans are probably skeptical when they hear the term Gladiator II. Do we really need a sequel to a Best Picture winner? Gladiator? Maybe not, but after seeing the world premiere of Ridley Scott’s film, maybe we don’t need it, but we still want it. Now.
The video shows a variety of epic gladiatorial battles – man vs. man, pack vs. pack, man vs. rhinoceros, pack vs. shark (yes, it’s real) – as well as some action involving Paul Mescal. Incredible stories from Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn and more. Indeed, this looks like a worthy sequel to the original, and that’s saying something.
This is easily the most exciting thing we’ll see at CinemaCon 2024.
