In the last week of March, Amazon Germany offered a free storage upgrade for the Galaxy A55, so the 128GB and 256GB models cost the same – 480 euros. That’s all over now, but both versions cost less.
The 256GB model has dropped to 460 euros, and it actually makes sense to buy the 128GB model now, since its price has dropped to 400 euros. The Galaxy A55 comes with a microSD slot, so you can easily add more storage if you need it. The A55 has a premium build, great battery life, and the Samsung/AMD chipset is both fast and stable under sustained load.
There’s also the Samsung Galaxy A35. It has the same display (Gorilla Glass Victus+, etc.) but uses the older Exynos 1380 chipset. And the 128GB model only has 6GB of RAM, so if you want 8GB of RAM, you’ll need to upgrade to the 256GB version (which is a bit pricey at the moment). Other than that, the two phones have more similarities than differences.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is being touted as a replacement for the A55 in some regions, but that won’t work in Germany. In our opinion, the 128GB model is 160 euros more expensive than the A55 and the extra performance of the Exynos 2200 is not worth it. Poor battery life is a major drawback, and the 10MP 3x telephoto camera doesn’t quite make up for it.
The Realme 12 Pro+ is a product to check if you want a budget zoom. It has a 3x periscope (71mm) and a 64MP sensor at the back. Shooting at 3x is great in almost all lighting conditions, shooting at 6x is also good, but you’ll need a steady hand. Anyway, Realme also brings a 50MP main camera (1/1.56-inch, OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle (112°), as well as a 32MP selfie (22mm lens). It comes with a 6.7-inch 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
The Honor 90 Lite is half the price but has a 100MP main camera. Since there’s no dedicated telephoto lens, it’s also responsible for zoom. The phone comes with a 6.7-inch 90Hz IPS LCD (FHD+) and Dimensity 6020 that supports 5G connectivity, along with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 35W fast charging. We barely mentioned the 5MP ultra-wide-angle camera, but it’s hardly worth mentioning.
Amazon offers a strange combination – a Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 or Tab A9+ paired with a pair of Galaxy Buds Pro 2. You can buy the tablet for only 100 euros, but the headphones themselves cost 140 euros, so you can save some by owning them. There are versions with Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity, but note that the plus model has 5G, while the regular A9 only has 4G.
The Lenovo Legion Go takes the Ryzen Z1 Extreme we saw in the Asus ROG Ally but makes the controller detachable like on the Nintendo Switch. Additionally, this product comes with an 8.8-inch LCD with QHD+ resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, giving it an edge over the Ally.
