Final Fantasy 7 Reborn’s annoying final boss retry menu has been fixed so no one needs to waste time like me

final fantasy 7 reborn I received a small patch that fixed the menu for the final boss death screen, and I was filled with a mixture of joy and jealousy.

Slight spoilers for the final boss of Final Fantasy 7 Reborn.

Multi-stage final boss battles are a staple of Final Fantasy games, each with its own unique attack patterns and annoyances. It’s all good, and I didn’t have too much trouble playing Final Fantasy 7 Reborn. However, towards the end of the final boss phase, it gave me a one-hit KO even though I was probably only two hits away from victory. After that, I encountered a retry menu that was so confusingly worded that I ended up having to go through each stage again.

This is because the options are “Retry from before the current battle,” “Retry from this battle,” “Retry from before the battle,” and “Continue.” Now, I think the second option is the one I need because this fight is definitely meant to be this particular fight, isn’t it? But that’s not the case, and it’s downright annoying – but thankfully, this problem is a thing of the past, as a new update from Square Enix has changed the on-screen wording to be clearer. Now, the most important option is “Retry from the current stage”, which definitely saves me a lot of time when playing the game, but hey, while I may be a little jealous of those who don’t have to go through what I and others have gone through, at least They don’t have to know our pain.

The wording of the game over option “Retry” has been fixed in the latest patch!

The change isn’t actually listed in the game’s patch notes, but fans on the game’s Reddit subreddit noticed that it was made in the latest update. In addition to this change, the update also fixes an annoying bug that prevented you from earning the game’s Platinum trophy if you played digitally, so you can get back to being a trophy hunter.
