Looking for someone online? It’s a little disturbing that there’s a website that does this.
PimEyes is a reverse image search website that uses facial recognition technology to match every photo of a person posted to the internet.
When someone uploads a photo of the person they want to find, Pimeyes searches the Internet to match that person’s face to the faces of others.
While it’s not completely perfect, it can be very accurate at finding the person you’re looking for or someone similar to you.

However, to find out the source of the uploaded images, you have to pay for plans ranging from $29.99 to $299.99 per month.
“I tested it myself and was shocked at its speed and accuracy. Super creepy” Luowen Zhang tweeted.
While it may seem dangerous, PimEyes is designed to allow people to “reclaim image rights and monitor your online presence,” according to the website.
“Using the latest technology, artificial intelligence and machine learning, we help you find your photos on the internet and protect yourself from scammers, identity thieves or people who are illegally using your images,” PimEyes said.
If a user sees a photo of themselves and wants to delete it, they can set up a PimEyes alert that will notify them when their photo is uploaded somewhere on the internet.
PimEyes then works with professional services to remove the image from the source.
Despite its good intentions, the technology has also become controversial as some believe it could be used for tracking.
PimEyes states in its terms of service, “If data security detects misuse of the service, such as tracking, violation of children’s privacy rights, the account will be permanently banned without the right to refunds.
