Big Stardew Valley update coming in March

I was very excited about Barone’s tweet in December, which revealed one of the new products: Larger storage box! (If you know, you know, if you don’t, you’ll know soon after you start playing and need to store everything.)

How should you prepare for updates?

First and most important: buy the game if you don’t already have it. The game has lower power requirements compared to other popular games, making it easy to play on almost any existing PC.

For existing users, if you use mods, you need to be prepared for all mods to potentially be updated once the update goes live. There’s no way of knowing when modders have time (or if they have time at all) to update your favorite mods, so you’ll have to keep an eye out for yourself. SMAPI and Content Patcher are minimum requirements for many mods, so start by updating them.

If you have an existing file or completion-related Steam goal that you want to achieve perfection (such as crafting any items), you may want to complete the existing goal before any new additions arrive. Crafting and cooking recipes can sometimes be difficult to unlock or find, as they often depend on other achievements in the game and there’s no telling where new recipes will be.

what do you need to play Stardew Valley?

To play the new March 19 update, all you really need is a working computer. But to give you the best experience while playing the game, we recommend the following.

Game Controller

you can play stardew Only a keyboard is required, but a game controller is more intuitive and comfortable to use. I find that I use both of these tools a lot, as the keyboard is where I activate the mod’s shortcuts, but whenever I’m performing any normal tasks around the farm, heading to the mines, and especially when I’m fishing. I refuse to fish through the keyboard.

steam deck

If you’re frustrated by having to wait to play on Nintendo Switch, you can get a similar experience with the help of Steam Deck. Our favorite PC game at WIRED is the Valve Steam Deck, and you can even upgrade to the OLED Valve. The added benefit of the Steam Deck is that your mods will work on it too. Here’s how to do it.

A great headset for collaboration

Did you see the mention of an eight-person collaboration? Because I did. While eight voices trying to manage the same farm sounds a little crazy, I love playing Stardew Valley In cooperative mode. I once played a file with a friend for over a year to reach a level of perfection in the game together. (Hot tip: Don’t miss the recipes on TV!) Having a good gaming headset makes everything in co-op gaming so much easier, as it eliminates echo and crappy audio.
