Lenovo is updating its ThinkPad T series Laptops with multiple new models, including ThinkPads T14, T14sand T16. The T-Series is known for its value for money and this year is no exception.
Powered by the latest Intel Core super-processors, these laptops are designed to leverage artificial intelligence to improve security, efficiency, and user experience to increase usability and productivity. Features like Copilot in Windows or Microsoft 365 and a dedicated Copilot key should simplify tasks like summarizing content, composing emails, and enhancing the app experience in Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint. We know Microsoft does intend to push a new feature when it translates to new keyboard keys.
The latest ThinkPad T14, T14s, and T16 models are designed with a communications bar that significantly improves video (compared to a typical 1080p webcam) and audio communications. Lenovo leverages the new NPU AI unit in its Lenovo View app, which delivers image enhancements with high energy efficiency.
Significant accessibility efforts have been made, including rearranging keyboard keys for the visually impaired.
ThinkPad T16 has plenty of room for a number pad
This year, Lenovo focuses on improving product quality Repairability and use recycled materials to reduce e-waste. By designing such products to be durable, repairable and upgradeable, Lenovo aims to extend the life of its products. These efforts not only contribute to environmental sustainability but also provide tangible cost-saving benefits to businesses and individuals by reducing the need for frequent replacement and repairs.
To make products easier to repair, Lenovo has introduced Establish strategic partnership with iFixita leader in the repair community known for advocating the “right to repair.”
This collaboration is critical to improving the serviceability of Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 and T16 Gen 3 models by creating comprehensive repair guides and integrating design elements that simplify repairs.The effort culminated in a major achievement—the temporary Repairability score is 9.3 out of 10.
The ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 can be ordered with Intel Core Ultra or AMD Ryzen 8040 series processors, while the ThinkPad T16 Gen 3’s CPU of choice is Intel Core Ultra (with vPro)
ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 and ThinkPad T16 Gen 3 laptops support up to 64GB DDR5 memory, enough capacity for any application.Regarding storage, both models can accommodate up to 2TB solid state drive (PCIe Gen4x4).
Regarding the display, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 offers up to 14” 2.8K OLED screen, while the ThinkPad T16 Gen 3 offers larger options, up to 16” 4K OLED exhibit. These displays deliver vibrant colors, high contrast and crisp details, enhancing the user experience for tasks ranging from content creation to multimedia consumption.
ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 has 39.3 Watt hours or 52.5 watt hours battery, while the ThinkPad T16 Gen 3 offers 52.5 watt hours or a 86 watt hours Battery. This flexibility is interesting because the final weight and cost can be adjusted based on your use case.
Both laptops offer a comprehensive selection of connectivity and peripheral expansion ports, including:
- 2 USB-C ports (Thunderbolt 4 on Intel models)
- 2 USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 5Gbps
- 1 HDMI 2.1
- 1 RJ45 port for wired network connection
- 1 x audio combo jack
- 1 Nano SIM slot for optional 5G sub-6 eSIM or 4G LTE (CAT6 eSIM)
Note that the ThinkPad T14s’ specs are close to, but not identical to, the T14, so check the Lenovo website carefully before ordering.
