The local industry regulator said the annual output value of Shanghai’s Internet security industry has doubled in the past three years to 26 billion yuan ($3.6 billion), establishing a complete security ecosystem covering monitoring, interception and tracking.
The Shanghai Economic and Information Technology Commission stated that in the future, Shanghai will strengthen innovative collaboration in key industry applications such as quantum computing, 5G industrial Internet, and Internet of Vehicles.
Chief Engineer Ge Dongbo said at a conference in Shanghai on Tuesday that the output value of Shanghai’s Internet security industry has exceeded 26 billion yuan, with an annual growth rate of more than 25%, driving the output value of related industries to exceed 250 billion yuan.
During the meeting, a number of cooperation centers and joint projects were announced, covering nuclear energy network security, native cloud security, quantum computing, smart car security and other fields.
Fosun Pharma, Zhenhua Heavy Industries, SAIC and other Shanghai giants revealed new security requirements at the meeting, covering areas such as the industrial Internet, Internet of Vehicles, and drug research security.
