Henderson to invest $22 million in internet and infrastructure

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is celebrating the success of career and technical education with nearly $22 million in investments. The Kentucky Governor made the announcement at the Henderson County High School Career and Technical Department.

Kenergy received $10.2 million to provide high-speed internet to businesses and homes in Henderson and Davis counties, officials said. We’re told Kenergy will match the investment.

Governor Beshear said this investment will impact 2,353 homes and businesses in Henderson County and 1,221 homes and businesses in Davis County.

He also announced a $700,000 investment in a 1 million-square-foot building site in Henderson County. The money will be used for future development of the industrial park.

“People are no longer looking at the coast. They are looking at opening offices in places like Kentucky. Every new announcement we make makes it more likely that these talented young people will stay and work in Kentucky.” Governor Andy Beshee Andy Beshear said.

These investments follow a $3.9 million investment in 2022 to improve high school technology departments.

After touring the facility, Governor Beshear said what impressed him most were the students and their enthusiasm.
