Okay, buckle up. You know how Xbox said Starfield won’t be coming to any other platforms at the moment? Well, it still isn’t, although Bethesda’s Twitter post managed to give it to some people struggling with a minor heart attack.
Yes. Now, calm down. It’s not our fault that many on social media are on tenterhooks about the possibility of Xbox games coming to PS5 and Switch, and games like Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush are actually already coming to one or both machine.

So, what exactly is going on here? Well, Bethesda Game Studios posted a nice little tweet last night letting people know that it had just updated the Nintendo Switch version of Skyrim, and casually pointed those who wanted to read the full description to it Official Discord server.
So far, so normal. The funny little wrinkle comes in when you look at the post and see the display image it pops up, this isn’t Skyrim because BGS apparently doesn’t like adding in pretty pictures of their own dragonborn killing giant lizards or whatever.
Instead, because at the time of writing, the official Bethesda Discord server’s header image is all Starfield-related – basically just because it’s the developer’s latest big release – a link in the tweet summoned up a pretty image of the Starfield RPG cover. In the replies, many people said something like: “Oh my God, I saw this photo and the word Switch and for a moment I thought it was Nintendo’s “Starfield”, and I did.”

To clarify, this is not STARFIELD for Switch. Don’t yell at us.
In fact, Skyrim’s update was released on most platforms back on December 5th – alongside the undisputed Creations system – and has now arrived on Switch as well. Some new fixes for Switch have been added.
So yeah, the arrival of a brand new Skyrim update wasn’t even revealed, look at all those poor twitters and their little hearts. Maybe next time they’ll make sure they take the time to fully read something before they start going crazy.
This is the internet, though, so probably not.
As I mentioned before, while Starfield is currently stuck on Xbox, Pentiment has moved to PS5 and will be better optimized for the monk trick shooter on that platform until the game’s next Xbox patch released.
