Lakers’ LeBron James surpassed the 40,000-point mark on Saturday night, while Wizards legend Gilbert Arenas cracked jokes for fans.

Lakers player LeBron James shocked the NBA world on Saturday by surpassing the 40,000-point mark, prompting a hilarious reaction from “Agent Zero” Gilbert Arenas.

James’ achievement came on a night when the Lakers went head-to-head with the defending champion Nuggets.

Before the game, the Lakers added an athletic big man to the lineup in hopes of matching Nikola Jokic and the rest of the Western Conference contenders. Stephen A. Smith also apologized to LeBron and the Lakers after a blowout win over the crosstown rival Clippers.

Gilbert Arenas nearly won over the internet with his hilarious reaction to James’ feat on Saturday.

Arenas’ funny tongue in cheek post

The former Wizards guard has become known for his outspokenness in recent years.

He credited himself with contributing to James’ scoring record with a hilarious post.

“Yes you did it Gilbert. Yes you did it,” one fan responded with a clapping emoji.

Another fan seemed to diminish the Lakers’ accomplishments because of LeBron’s struggles with “European defenses.”

“Gilbert is to LeBron what Jalen Rose is to Kobe,” another fan said, referring to Kobe’s legendary 81 points against Rose and the Raptors.

Lakers take on Denver Nuggets

As of the third quarter against the Nuggets, the Lakers had 13 points from James, while Hachimura scored 23 points to lead Davon Ham’s team.

As the game progressed, Anthony Davis scored 15 points, Austin Reeves scored 14 points, and D’Angelo Russell scored 17 points.

By the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Nuggets had scored 29 points from Jokic and regained the lead from the Lakers.
