Catchpoint aims to increase Google Cloud’s resiliency with ‘Internet Stack’ APM

As our work in the virtualized abstract world of network, cloud, edge, and ephemeral computing becomes more pervasive and prolific, we expect to hear terms like robustness, the absence of fragile systems, and a comprehensive approach to supporting resiliency.

Perhaps hearing from the New York-based Monitoring, performance optimization and analytics company Catchpoint positions itself as Internet Resilience Corporation – Yes, it’s styled in fancy capital letters™.

The company recently launched Google Cloud test suitea tool designed to simplify end-to-end monitoring of Google Cloud services from various endpoints of a customer’s choice, including on-premises, other public clouds, and Internet endpoints.

The suite is specifically developed to simplify the configuration and management of cloud service testing to improve operational performance and user experience.

Internet Performance Monitoring (IPM)

This test suite is part of Catchpoint’s Internet Performance Monitoring (IPM) platform, software for understanding all aspects of the Internet that impact your business and revenue.

Think of it as application performance management (APM), but instead of the application stack, it’s for the internet stack.

Google Cloud Test Suite allows IT teams to deploy multiple tests for Google Cloud services using best practices from Google Cloud and Catchpoint for rapid issue detection and troubleshooting. Its design focuses on minimizing the complexity and time investment of effective Google Cloud service monitoring, making it user-friendly for novice users.

“Our partnership with Google Cloud is fundamentally about simplifying and enhancing the network performance monitoring experience for enterprises leveraging Google Cloud services. The Google Cloud Test Suite is a direct response to this need, promoting more efficient implementations and simplifying Google Cloud monitoring process for the service,” said Mehdi Daoudi, CEO and co-founder of Catchpoint. “In an era when cloud computing is critical to business efficiency, ensuring optimal performance, resiliency and user experience through sophisticated and precise monitoring is critical. Our continued collaboration with Google Cloud is expected to generate more innovative solutions in this area. ”

This move is part of Catchpoint’s integration into the Google Cloud network observability partner ecosystem.

“We believe that the strong Google Cloud network observability partner ecosystem not only provides choice but also enables you to leverage current observability solutions, workflows and skills to effectively monitor your Google Cloud workloads, based on your Tailor deployments to specific needs, including hybrid and multi-cloud,” said Raj Gulani, Director of Product Management for Network Experience at Google Cloud.

The test suite includes preset test templates for key Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Spanner, Cloud Storage, and Compute Engine.

These templates are customizable, allowing users to quickly adapt tests to meet their specific requirements, which is particularly beneficial for enterprises that need to quickly deploy and monitor cloud services.
