Google Pixel 8a more expensive than predecessor

Google’s upcoming Pixel 8a could be significantly more expensive than any of its predecessors, at least in the European Union, according to a new report from a usually reliable source.

The German retailer now says that the Pixel 7a will start at €500, but the Pixel 8a will cost €570. There will be two versions: one with 128GB storage and the other with 256GB storage. The latter will cost 630 euros.

According to the aforementioned internal listing from the German retailer, the Pixel 8a will allegedly be available in four colors when it goes on sale. These will be called Obsidian (black), Porcelain (beige), Bay (light blue), and Mint (light green). However, not all colors are available with these two storage variants, as the 256GB model is currently only listed in Obsidian.

The Pixel 8a is expected to be available in April or May. According to previous leaks and rumors, it will come with Google’s Tensor G3 SoC and 8GB of RAM. It will have a more rounded design than its predecessor and will feature two rear cameras in a “sun visor” that extends all the way to the back of the phone, a now-famous Pixel feature.
