SpaceX-backed startup has secured 2,850 pre-orders for $300,000 flying car

Alef Aeronautics, a Silicon Valley startup Powered by Elon Musk’s SpaceXis making great progress in the flying car industry with its Model A, $300,000 Two-seater vehicle. Since the Model A became available for pre-order in October 2022, the company has secured more than 2,850 reservations, attracting significant interest. Potential buyers only need a $150 deposit to secure a reservation, while a $1,500 payment will gain priority in the delivery queue.

Model A is an all-electric flying car with a driving range of 200 miles and an estimated flight range of 110 miles. Alef Aeronautics envisions it as a versatile vehicle that can operate on roads, take off vertically when necessary, and navigate the sky to avoid traffic jams. CEO and Co-Founder Jim Duchovny Alef Aeronautics revealed that Model A deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025. As of July, the startup has accumulated $250 million in bookings, and if all 2,850 bookings are fulfilled, Alef Aeronautics could generate more than $850 million in sales.

More affordable options will emerge in 2035

For those looking for a more affordable option, Alef Aeronautics is also developing the Model Z, a $35,000 four-seat sedan expected to be released in 2035.
