The Sony WH-1000XM4 is a bit bassy out of the box, so you can use the equalizer presets to change the sound profile or create your own equalizer. If you want to turn down the bass and treble for a more “flat” sound, or if you’re an EDM fan and want to turn the bass up even more, there are plenty of options here.

The whole reason I bought the Sony WH-1000XM4 was because they have really good noise canceling capabilities. I was able to get a lot of work done without being distracted by the noise around the apartment and outside. I also really like the voice chat feature, which switches the headset to transparency mode when it detects you speaking. That way I can keep the headphones on if I need to talk to someone for a while, which is handy if my hands are busy while I need to talk to someone, such as when I’m washing dishes or carrying stuff.
The last noise control feature I like is how easy it is to quickly switch to transparency mode when needed. Placing your hand on the right earcup turns on transparency mode until you release your hand, making it easy to listen quickly when you need it.

I have to charge my Sony WH-1000XM4 about once a week, and even when they’re low, I can get through whatever I’m doing within reason without them draining the battery.
In addition, Sony WH-1000XM4 also has a fast charging function, which is super convenient. Just plug it in for 10 minutes to charge for 5 hours. So when I do find myself running low on battery life, I can rely on fast charging to get me through the rest of the time.

When you turn on the headset, it instantly notifies you when the first device is connected, and then when the second device is connected, so you can determine if you’ll be able to easily switch between the two devices. If something happens and one of the devices gets disconnected, it will indicate that as well.
