1899a science fiction series created by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, the creators of the hit TV show dark, premiering on Netflix in November 2022. TV producer Ruairi Carroll liked the show’s mysterious characters and storyline.
“No matter how the Netflix algorithm works, it keeps getting pushed to my screen,” Carroll said in Netflix episode 562. Geek’s Guide to the Galaxy podcast. “I saw a lot of the trailers on YouTube because I follow the Netflix channel on YouTube. I have to say, I went through it from the beginning and had a great time.”
Despite all the fanfare, 1899 Quickly canceled, the show ended on a gut-wrenching cliffhanger that left many of the show’s mysteries completely unresolved. Geek’s Guide to the Galaxy Host David Barr Kirtley was disappointed that Netflix ended the show in such a depressing way. “It’s been over a year since the show came out and I still keep seeing people complaining on social media like ‘How does Netflix fund this stupid series or this stupid show? Why don’t they give us more 1899? That’s what we really want,” he said.
fantasy author erin lindsay likes 1899, but given the many signs that the story was spiraling out of control, it’s understandable why the show was canceled. “There’s some serious entropy going on in storytelling,” she said. “I thought the first few episodes were going really well, and then each episode got weirder and weirder, and by the end I just lost my patience.”
So is there still hope? 1899 Will fans understand what this all means?TV screenwriter Andrea Kyle Hopefully the answer will come in one form or another. “That’s my advice to Netflix, or at least to producers,” she said. “Can you tell me what happened? Explain it to me. I don’t care, just write it out. I just want to know. I just want to know what happens next.”

Does it all have to make sense? My friends and I have been having this conversation lately. She doesn’t like mystery. She wants everything explained to her as you go, and I just say, “Okay, let it go now. Maybe eventually you’ll get an explanation, and sometimes it’s still satisfying not to have an explanation.” That might just be me Perception as a reader/viewer. That doesn’t bother me…I like that all the questions are left unanswered. I’m a “let it wash over me” kind of person, especially when I do it, my first impression is that this is great.
Ruairi Carroll said on Mystery Box:
I don’t mind the mystery box thing. Well, I can live with that to an extent.I kind of fell over lost.I like leftovers from a few years ago, and dark. But sometimes I do get stuck with it.Honestly, some days I’m happy to skip the mystery box stuff and just put it on Rachel On Amazon and watching a big guy beat someone up…that’s about it, that’s the only thing I can say about the stuff in these mystery boxes. Just let it go. You’re either going to bang your head against the wall the whole night thinking about this, or you’re going to be like, “Okay, I’m going to fire up Jack Reacher.”

what happened to me dark It was at the end of season one that I thought, “There’s no way they’re going to end this. None of this makes sense.” And then at the end of season two, I thought, “Well, they’re doing a really good job – better than me.” It’s much better to anticipate – to make it all make sense, so I hope in season three it will all really make sense.” Feeling. ” And then by season three, I was like, “Well, I still have a list of like a hundred important things that they never answered. ” So if it follows the same pattern, I’m sure a lot of things will be answered in a satisfying way, but I’m still left with the overwhelming impression that by the end of season three there will be a list of a hundred things that no one can answer.”
Erin Lindsey on Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese:
I think if anyone is going to succeed [a Mystery Box show], it is very likely these people. We took it apart. That’s what we do on this show, but it’s an enjoyable show.In my opinion, it’s flawed, but it’s fun, and I think even though I’d prefer dark Still, I’m impressed by these guys’ attention to detail and sheer ambition that they might one day succeed. If this show has flaws I would recommend it because it’s funny and I’ll watch the next movie they put out and the next one after that because I have a feeling they’ll make it big one day Brilliant.
