In a landmark initiative to bridge the digital divide in Southeast Asia, mu Space, in partnership with OneWeb, will provide satellite internet services to underserved communities in the region. The partnership heralds a new era of digital accessibility and aims to revolutionize traditional internet access models.

Innovative mobile services stand out by enabling mobile high-speed Internet connectivity. Imagine delivering high-speed internet in the most remote locations, from the high seas to remote locations. The product is particularly beneficial for vehicles and sea vessels, ensuring constant online access without geographical restrictions. In contrast, fixed terrestrial fixed services are tailored for static installations (such as on buildings) to facilitate internet penetration in rural communities.

When natural disasters occur, traditional communication infrastructure is often severely damaged, and the provision of satellite Internet becomes indispensable. It guarantees uninterrupted internet access to emergency services, humanitarian organizations and disaster-affected communities. Rapid deployment of mobile services is critical for effective disaster relief coordination and information dissemination. At the same time, land-based anchorage options provide survivors with a reliable communication channel, allowing them to contact their families and access necessary services.

The recent completion of the OneWeb satellite gateway station in Thailand, executed by the National Telecommunications Corporation of Thailand, is a strategic benefit for mu Space’s service expansion efforts. This setup enhances the synergy between mu Space and OneWeb, greatly benefiting the target community. At the heart of service delivery is the user terminal, which is the key device that connects end users to the satellite network, ensuring stable, high-speed Internet access across different locations.
