Weekend deals: Samsung Galaxy S24 series drops below pre-order prices

A typical pre-order perk for Galaxy S pre-orders is a free storage upgrade, which this year even extends into the first few weeks of sales. But then it ended and you had to pay full price to get the extra storage. Well, not anymore – the S24 range is discounted below the pre-order price.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra starts at $1,150 for the 12/256GB model. Of course, this isn’t part of the pre-order, but it’s the cheapest way to get your hands on the new Ultra. The 12/512GB model costs $1,270 ($1,300 during pre-order).

The Samsung Galaxy S24+ matches the Ultra with 12GB RAM and a QHD+ display, but it misses out on top-notch camera setup. However, the base model costs just $850, which is $300 cheaper than the equivalent Ultra. Upgrading to 512GB of storage costs $120.

Samsung Galaxy S24+

The regular Samsung Galaxy S24 is a relatively minor upgrade over its predecessor. Its base model starts with 128GB of storage (half that of its sibling) but only 8GB of RAM. The display is still FHD+. That said, it’s the smallest new phone (flagship or otherwise) Samsung sells, and one of the smallest Android flagship phones.

The S24 starts at $700 now, but we’d spend an extra $60 to get 256GB of storage – and after 7 years (that’s how long the S24 series will be supported), you’ll be glad you did. Check out our Galaxy S24 vs S24+ comparison to learn more about why you should choose one over the other.

But if you want the cheaper 8/128GB S24, consider the Samsung Galaxy S23 — it’s $100 less for the same RAM and storage. Although the S24 does use an LTPO panel, it has the same screen resolution. We’d recommend the newer model, though, because the $100 you save now will quickly dwindle as the S23’s support window shortens (4 OS updates and 5 years of patches).

Meanwhile, Samsung America is running a daily deal offering up to $720 in enhanced trade-in credit on the Galaxy Z Flip5 (starting price is $1,000). Again, this is Saturday’s Daily Deal – if you’re reading this on Sunday, trade-in points are capped at $600.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is part of a week-long deal, so you have the weekend to mull it over. You can earn up to $800 in trade-in credit (price before credits start at $1,800).

A few months ago, Samsung launched the Galaxy Book4 series equipped with new Intel Core Ultra processors. The previous generation was still pretty capable, and now it’s pretty cheap too.

Samsung Galaxy Book3 is equipped with Intel Core i5 1335U or i7 1355U and has a 15.6-inch display with 1080p LCD. The laptop has two USB-C ports and two USB-A 3.2, an HDMI port, headphone jack, and a microSD slot. The Book3 weighs 3.53 pounds.

We’ll wrap up with a couple of headphones. Samsung Galaxy Buds2 are down to $100 as always. They support active noise cancellation, 360-degree audio, and auto-switching so they can automatically switch between Galaxy devices.

The Sony WH-1000XM4 is down to $250, making it a cheaper alternative to the newer XM5 model. They’re still very comfortable over-ear headphones with excellent ANC, good sound quality, and solid battery life.
