Giant hats and cubes are ruining Tekken 8’s online matchmaking

A familiar threat is plaguing Tekken 8’s online lobbies. They may not be common, but giant metal cubes, pink hats, and other ridiculously large objects plague Bandai Namco’s fantastic new fighting game, just as they do in Tekken 7 and Souls Made as caliber 6.

This is a problem for those who encounter them, as the size of these objects obscures attacks and movement, making it difficult to counterattack or predict what your opponent will do next. As of this writing, there has been no official communication from Bandai Namco, game director Katsuhiro Harada, or producer Michael Murray on the matter.

Earlier this week, the video first appeared online as a user A giant metal cube is highlighted on Alyssa’s body, and earlier today, another player exposed the same thing on Reddit, Yoshimitsu wearing a pretty pink hat. While the latter won, it wasn’t exactly a fair fight.

So, how did this happen? The entire question revolves around the optional cosmetics that can be applied to fighters in Tekken 8. However, the roots of this problem lie in the past. Ever since Tekken 7 came out and was playable on home computers, those who have been able to get involved and modify the game have been able to push the limits on how large these cosmetics can be made and scale them much larger than expected. When you’re done, this is the result; horribly unfair battles at your fingertips, both offline and online.

So, this problem seems difficult to solve, or the priority is not too high, what should we do?Well, on a related note, the Tekken 8 team publicly stated Indicates intention to ban players found to be blocked – The act of disconnecting from a match that is about to be lost to avoid losing ranking points. If you are able to record a video of the offending player, please send it to Bandai Namco support and hopefully the account will be applauded.
