Intel today launched the Core i9-14900KS processor, and it hits a major milestone – the processor now reaches a 6.2 GHz Turbo frequency, a first for a regular desktop CPU.
The processor offers a 200 MHz boost over the Core i9-14900K and Core i9-13900KS but retains the rest of the specs, such as 24 CPU cores and 32 threads.
The KS variant of the 14th generation Intel chips has a higher base power limit of 150W compared to the K version, but it is already the same as the 13th generation KS.
Maximum turbo frequencies across the line have been increased by 200 MHz; everything else remains the same – 36 MB cache, 192 GB of supported RAM, Intel Graphics 770 with a 300 MHz base frequency and a 1.65 GHz maximum dynamic frequency.
Intel Core i9 vs. competitors
Intel already sells the Core i9-14900KS through retailers as a boxed processor or integrated into systems and OEM partners. The processor is priced at $699.
