Samsung Galaxy Watch7 launches three versions, chip energy efficiency improved by 50%

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch7 will apparently come in no fewer than three versions, according to new rumors on the matter. The wearables will likely be announced alongside the Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Z Flip6 at Samsung’s Unpacked event in early to mid-July.

The Watch7 is said to be coming in Classic and Pro versions, as well as an unnamed third version. This could be the rectangular Galaxy Watch we introduced you to recently.

Samsung Galaxy Watch7 launches three versions, chip energy efficiency improved by 50%

If this rumor is true, it would mark a first: Samsung is launching three different versions of its latest smartwatch for the first time. So far, in the past few years, we have launched regular models as well as classic or professional models.

It is said that the new wearable device will be equipped with Samsung’s Exynos W940 SoC, which is said to be 50% more energy efficient than the Exynos W930 in the Galaxy Watch6 series. This obviously won’t mean 50% longer battery life, but the improvement should still be pretty good. The W940 may be Samsung’s first chip to use the 3nm process, which in itself could explain the increased efficiency. If this is accurate, then we’d expect a 30% performance improvement as well.
