Battlefield 2042 Season 7 will be launched next week, and DICE is offering rewards for players who missed the first two seasons

In mid-December last year, just as everyone was getting ready to head off for vacation, DICE announced that Battlefield 2042 would actually receive more support in 2024, with a new season launching in March.

It’s now March 2024, and DICE has delivered on its promise, releasing an explosive new trailer for Season 7: Turning Point and confirming a March 19 release date.

In fact, “Turning Point” might be an apt title for the new season. It’s a blend of old and new, giving seasoned players and veteran players some incentive to get back into the action. Let’s start with the new content. Season seven brings two maps. Unfortunately, none of them are new. And, as is customary with Battlefield 2042 seasons, only one will be available at launch.

The map you can play on March 19th is Haven, a Port of Arica-inspired map set in the Chilean desert that emphasizes destruction and suburban combat. The other is the Stadium, which restores the large stadium that was removed from the Qatar (Hourglass) map during last year’s redesign. The stadium will open later this season.

New weapons and gadgets also reflect nostalgia for older Battlefield games. You’ll get Battlefield 4’s AK 5C Carbine and SCZ-3 SMG. The best part, however, is the Predator SRAW, a launcher that fires wire-guided missiles.

Turning Point also features a new vehicle, the remote-controlled XFAD-4 Draugr – an aerial bomber we teased at the end of the trailer that looks more like a killstreak. This version won’t be available at launch, but will join the fray via seasonal updates.

The Season 7 patch will also bring several major gameplay changes, Includes improved visual recoil for all weapons This will better convey the power and effect of each weapon class and look like any other big shooter. DICE will reveal more gameplay updates between now and launch.

If you’re a Year 1 pass holder, DICE has a final gift for you that will hopefully have you returning next week. If you missed out on Seasons 5 and 6, you can simply log in during Season 7 to instantly unlock all the feature hardware you missed in the respective battle passes. These include the VHX-D3 AR, G428 DMR, BFP.50 pistol, YUV-2 Pondhawk vehicle, as well as all new grenade variants, medical and ammo pouches.

Like every previous Battlefield 2042 season, Season 7 comes with its own battle pass, which contains 100 tiers of free and paid content. Of course, there’s also an Ultimate Pack, which includes 20 levels of jumps and exclusive skins.

To celebrate the launch of Turning Point, Battlefield 2042 will be free to play on all platforms from March 21st to 24th.
