Google Pixel 8a FCC appearance hints at imminent launch

There have been a lot of leaks and rumors about the Pixel 8a over the past few months. While we don’t have a release date for the smartphone yet, a recent FCC listing suggests it might not be far away.

The first thing discovered was digital trends, Google appears to have submitted four devices to the FCC. According to reports, the four device models are G8HHN, G6GPR, G576D and GKV4X.

in earlier Give way, we saw pictures of the official retail box of Pixel 8a. The retail box in question has the model number G6GPR, which seems to confirm that the Pixel 8a is included in this FCC filing.

This is a notable event because the company must obtain FCC approval before it can begin selling the device. In short, the document hints that Google might be gearing up to launch the affordable phone soon.

Google officially released Pixel 7a on May 10 last year. Given that May is only a few months away, Google may be considering a similar launch date. Google I/O was just recently confirmed to take place on May 14, 2024; it is believed that Google may reserve the launch of the Pixel 8a for this event.
