Marvel just announced Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra At GDC 2024. The game was shown off at the Unreal Showcase, using Unreal Engine 5.4, and it looks like an absolute feast for the eyes. The show is set to release in 2025, and as of this writing, no specific season or month has been revealed.
The game was showcased by Amy Hennig, the former writer and director of the Uncharted series. After completing that work, she briefly moved to Visceral Games before EA closed the studio. She then moved on to Skydance New Media, where she began working with Marvel Entertainment.

Back in 2022, we learned that the game would be an action-adventure game starring Captain America and Black Panther, but nothing was known about the story or setting. That all changes today, and we can now see that it’s a blast from the past, with both characters fighting against Hydra in World War II Paris.
You can check out the latest trailer above, which unfortunately doesn’t seem to show any actual gameplay. But if you’re interested in checking out the latest and greatest features of Unreal Engine, this is a good indicator.
It’s been revealed that the game is also narrative-driven, which is great news for fans of Hennig’s previous work. Skydance Media is also working on a Star Wars project that we haven’t seen yet. The project is also being led by Hennig, so she seems to have a lot on her plate right now.
