VTX1 High Speed Internet Expanded to Bluetown

BLOWTOWN, Texas (ValleyCentral) – Several small communities in Cameron County will soon have high-speed internet.

County officials held a groundbreaking ceremony on March 15. The Internet expansion project is a partnership between Cameron County and VTX1.

It will allow residents living along the military highway to enjoy internet services. District 37 State Representative Janie Lopez explained what this means for cities like Bluetown.

“Less than 30% of households don’t have broadband. We’ve been closing that gap. Thanks to VTX and Governor Abbott, we celebrate the excellence of the Texas economy.”

Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino, who was also in attendance, said: “We want to find areas that can make an impact as quickly as possible in those five areas, starting with Bluetown and Santa Maria. “

Other areas include Lozano, San Pedro and the surrounding areas of Isla Blanca.
