Samsung Galaxy M55 images and specs leak show it’s more than just a rebranded A55

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is coming soon and its specs were leaked today along with official renders, which you can see below.

The M55 is said to feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120 Hz Super AMOLED+ screen with narrow bezels and a peak refresh rate of 1,000 nits. As you can see, it will be available in light green and black, but Samsung may of course choose to call these more exciting colors.

There is a triple-camera system on the back, which includes a 50 MP main camera with OIS, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2 MP macro shooter. On the other hand, you get a 50 MP selfie snapper.

The phone is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery, supports 45W fast wired charging, is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, and is paired with up to 12GB of RAM. You get 128GB or 256GB of storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD card. The fingerprint sensor will be under-screen.

As expected, the M55 is rumored to run Android 14 with One UI 6 onboard, and Samsung will apparently give it its promise of five major Android updates and five years of security updates. The phone will also have dual-SIM functionality, onboard Bluetooth 5.2, and of course, NFC.

Compared to the Galaxy A55, which was officially released not long ago, the M55 has a slightly larger screen, a completely different chipset (abandoning Samsung’s own Exynos 1480 in favor of the now quite old Snapdragon 7 Gen 1), a lower-resolution Ultrawide and macro cameras, a higher-resolution selfie camera, and support for faster charging. All in all, it’s shaping up to be an interesting variant of the A55. All that’s left now is for Samsung to officially announce the news.
