We have just finished testing the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy A55, and the results show that it is significantly improved compared to the Galaxy A54.
The Galaxy A55 is powered by the new Exynos 1480 chipset, which is theoretically expected to be more efficient, and has the same 5,000 mAh battery as its predecessor. The display is also now 0.2 inches larger, which may also increase power consumption.
However, we saw a significant improvement in battery life on the Galaxy A54. There were significant improvements across all tests except gaming.
The new Galaxy A55 achieves Active usage score was 13 minutes and 27 seconds, which is very good. Web browsing and talk time improved, but our video streaming test was by far the biggest upgrade compared to last year’s model.
Compared to its competitors, the Galaxy A55 clearly performs well, beating all but the Nothing Phone (2a). In terms of efficiency, the Exynos 1480 is clearly a great effort from the Galaxy team.
Stay tuned for our full review to see how the rest of the phone performs.
