How to take a screenshot on iPad

Taking a screenshot on an iPad can be a little confusing because there are different ways to do it, depending on whether your model has a home button. However, each method is very simple. Here’s how to take a screenshot on your iPad (regardless of its model).

How to take screenshots on iPad using the Home button

Press the top button and the home button simultaneously and release them quickly. Your iPad will take a screenshot, and you’ll see a thumbnail of the screenshot in the lower left corner of the screen.

You can click on the thumbnail to open the screenshot, or swipe left to view it later.

How to take a screenshot on an iPad without a home button

If your newer-generation iPad doesn’t have a home button, you’ll have to use the volume buttons. It doesn’t matter which volume button you press.

Press the top button and either of the two volume buttons simultaneously and quickly release them. If successful, you’ll see a small thumbnail of the screenshot in the lower left corner of the screen. You can choose to tap it to turn it on, or swipe left to turn it off.

How to take screenshots with Apple Pencil on iPad

If you’re using an iPad that supports Apple Pencil, you can also ditch the buttons and use the Pencil to take screenshots. First, make sure your Pencil is actually paired with your iPad.This is How to do it.
