Faster, safer and more native! Google Chrome now has a Windows-optimized version for Snapdragon

Qualcomm Technologies and Google jointly announced the launch of an optimized Chrome browser tailored for Windows PCs powered by Snapdragon processors. This version arrives ahead of PC with: SnapdragonX Elite computing platform, expected to debut in mid-2024.

Google Chrome, the world’s most widely used browser, is constantly advancing new features, performance enhancements, and security updates, including experimental generative artificial intelligence capabilities.

Hiroshi Lockheimer, Senior Vice President, GoogleEmphasizing Chrome’s core principles of speed, security and user-friendliness across platforms, and expressing optimism that this experience will be extended to more users through its partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, ensuring optimized browsing for ARM-compatible PCs experience.

Chrome is ahead of PCs powered by Snapdragon X Elite, which will debut in mid-2024.

Qualcomm and Google have a long-standing partnership dating back to the inception of Android phones in 2008; Snapdragon chipsets also power numerous wearable devices powered by Google software, and there are plans to continue working together on extended reality (XR) devices.

The Chrome browser optimized for Windows on Snapdragon is now available for download to meet the needs of existing Windows users on Snapdragon devices.
