Dutch pilot Christiaan van Heijst often shares photos of the view he sees from the cockpit. This time, Mr Christian took to Instagram to share a stunning photo of a rare moment he captured from the window of a Boeing 747 while flying over the North Atlantic. He said in the post’s caption that he encountered “turquoise aerial flames” in the form of the Northern Lights a few hundred kilometers south of Iceland. He said the city lights of Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, had a contrasting orange glow with the distant horizon.
