what you need to know
- The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 have appeared in the 3C certification database, equipped with 25W charging like last year.
- Presumably, these devices could offer faster speeds, as regulators specifically default to 25W chargers when inspecting Galaxy devices.
- The Flip 6 is rumored to have a better display and more RAM, while rumors of a cheaper Fold 6 continue.
A new rumor suggests that consumers interested in Samsung’s upcoming foldable phone may prefer the same old one.
according to Abhishek Yadav On X, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 appeared on the 3C certification website with the charger model EP-TA800. What’s more, their listing suggests that Samsung will continue to offer 25W charging on both of its foldable products this year.

However, there may be a glimmer of hope as SamMobile notes that the two foldable phones may feature faster charging speeds. The publication notes that 25W chargers are the regulator’s default choice when inspecting all Samsung Galaxy phones (tablets). Devices such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra were reportedly tested using a 25W charger, but the device launched with support for 45W fast charging.
Only time will tell which path Samsung is interested in taking.
Currently, there are other rumors about clamshell and book-style foldable batteries that say the size may increase. In January, rumors suggested that the Korean OEM had begun testing the Flip 6 with a 1,097mAh and 2,790mAh pairing, bringing its total capacity to nearly 4,000mAh. This would make the clamshell battery capacity similar to that of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
This capacity increase will give the Flip 6 300mAh more than last year’s Flip 5.
Recently, the Flip 6 has been rumored to feature a smoother display, 120Hz refresh rate, and higher RAM options. Speculation continues about a cheaper version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE, which may ditch the stylus to keep the price low. More specific information may be revealed later this summer, as rumors suggest Samsung may hold an Unpacked event earlier on July 10.
