The Cherry Creek Food Hall and Brewery (formerly The Grange) at 6575 Greenwood Plaza Boulevard was the site of a light-on kickoff event on March 13 to celebrate the arrival of Ting Internet fiber-to-the-home fiber to the city of Greenwood Village. GV residents who sign up for the service will pay $89 per month, and the warranty will last for 5 years. To help facilitate construction, the city has pledged a financial contribution of up to $5 million to Ting, with the amount tied to the construction deadlines promised at company meetings.
More than a dozen Ting staff were present to answer questions and celebrate. They are led by Jason Smith, chief network officer and executive vice president of operations, and CJ Enrenreich, senior director of building operations, who traveled from North Carolina to attend the event. The Ting team attended the party with GV City Council members and current and future Ting customers, which included gift bags filled with plastic water bottles, compact blankets and even small chocolate candies with Ting on them. Cherry Creek Food Hall General Manager Jeff Carter oversees the food hall’s rich and delicious selections, including French desserts by Alyce In Florland.
“We’re here tonight to celebrate the launch of Ting Internet in Greenwood Village. The community is very excited to have us here,” Deb Walker, Ting’s regional community engagement and public affairs manager, told us.
We asked Deb what options are available for new Ting customers who currently have cable internet and TV service but want to upgrade to fiber optic internet. “We can help people… continue to watch TV via internet streaming,” Deb explains. “We’re specifically focused on delivering reliable, super-fast internet, and everything else can follow.” She reminds us that Ting currently offers to customers Commitment to 2Gbps symmetrical service (upload and download).
Current and future Ting clients who attended the celebration included Joan and Barry Blasberg. Their Ting service is up and running at their home near Belleview Avenue and Yosemite Street. Barry is an electrical engineer who knows technology very well and is very satisfied with Ting’s service. He told us that Ting has delivered upload and download speeds in excess of 2Gbps as promised, but noted that many current computers can’t handle such fast speeds yet. We point out that, one might say, this is why Ting calls its service “future-proof.” Another aspect of Ting’s service that Barry and Joan appreciate is that the company provides prompt and knowledgeable 24/7 customer service representatives, all of whom they interact with are located in the United States.
Other GV residents, including Brian and Diane Curd, and Renée Zelkind, also attended the party and learned more about Ting’s service, which they hope to use when it becomes available.
Ting’s citywide installation began last fall and is expected to continue until completion in summer 2027. The project was completed in three phases. The full schedule and details, including maps, can be found on the city’s website.
